Early Childhood Educators’ Day recognises and celebrates the work of Australia’s educators in early learning services for the important role they play in supporting children’s wellbeing, learning and development in the early years.
It’s a chance to say thank you to Australia’s early childhood educators on a very personal level by service operators, families and their children, as well as collectively at the state and national levels.
In 2024 Early Childhood Educators’ Day will take place on Wednesday 4th September.
It’s easy to celebrate Early Childhood Educators’ Day! Early learning services can encourage their families to say thank you to their educators by inviting them to an event such as morning tea, help make an appreciation wall or tree and/or bring in cards and home-made gifts. At the same time services can say thank you to their team members by organising their own unique celebrations in consultation with their team.
A picture is worth a thousand words! This map highlights the numbers, as well as how far and wide Early Childhood Educators’ Day is celebrated across the country in recognition of our wonderful educators.
Early learning services are encouraged to register their service to add it to map as well as the overall count.
(NOTE: If you added your service last year, it will still be included in the count so no need to add it again this year.)
We respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Owners and custodians of the land throughout Australia and pay respects to the ongoing living cultures of the First Peoples.
Next year Early Childhood Educators’ Day will take place on Wednesday 3rd September 2025. Don’t forget to pop it into your diary!
