Sharing your story gives other service providers inspiration and creative ideas which can be used to help decide on their own celebrations.

If you’d be happy to see your early learning service appear as an example on the Early Childhood Educators’ Day website, please send a description (approx 250-300 words) of how you celebrated the day last year (or any year in the past) along with some photos to admin@childcarealliance.org.au.

Deadline: Friday 16th August, but the sooner the better!

Every year we introduce a new the theme for Early Childhood Educators’ Day to keep the annual event fun, fresh and in touch with the what’s going on in the early learning sector from an operational and cultural perspective for that particular year.

During the last two years, the impact of COVID-19 was ever-present, so the theme in 2021 was “Rain or shine, we’re here!” whilst in 2020 it was “Essential and I know it!”  We hope that these themes resonated well with each and every early childhood educator.

In 2022 as with the greatest impact of COVID-19 hopefully behind us,  Early Childhood Educators’ Day focuses on the significant advantages children gain from attending quality early learning services, and the important role that early childhood educators play in shaping our young children’s worlds.

Children who enjoy quality early learning are likely to be well socialised, confident, inquisitive about the world, accepting of diversity, resilient to manage challenges and also to be life-long learners.

These benefits flow on to our families, the wider community and the Australian economy.

In recognition of the wonderful work of our early childhood educators, this year’s theme for Early Childhood Educators’ Day is “Shaping their world“.

We hope this theme strikes a meaningful chord with early learning service providers, the families who attend their services and most importantly their early childhood educators.

The theme is beautifully illustrated in this year’s apparel designed by our Apparel Sponsor Cargo Crew.

You can click here to order from their gorgeous range of T-shirts, aprons, bucket hats, tote bags and key rings.

Please be sure place your orders by the deadline of Monday 1 August, 5pm

We’d like to thank everyone who posted a video to take part in this year’s “How are you going to say thank you?” video and also the “Australia says thank you” video as part of Early Childhood Educators’ Day 2021!

As soon as you have published the Tribute, your Tribute page will be updated with the copy of the finished video.

You have an option to share the page’s URL or use the buttons below to share it via Facebook, Twitter or via email.

If you would like to save a copy of the video on your device, all you need to do is click on the red Download button at the bottom right of the page. (Please refer to the image at the top of this article.)

We hope you find this update useful.

With only a short time to go until Early Childhood Educators’ Day, now is the time to invite your families to take a quick “thank you” video of themselves, to form part of a collective Tribute video! You can then play this personalised video from the children and their families to your team of staff on the day or during the week of the event.

Thanks to our supportive Event Sponsor – Tribute, this is a free service for all early learning service providers!

What is a Tribute video?

For those of you who may not have created a Tribute video before, they are super easy to make and can be created for any type of event – birthdays, celebrations, milestones or even sick friends/relatives.

In short, a Tribute video is a collection of home-made videos from friends, families and/or stakeholders which are edited together back-to-back, to create a special all-in-one video for the person/people you are sending it to.

Tribute videos create a moving, meaningful gift which can be kept forever.

In the context of Early Childhood Educators’ Day, they also allow those of your families and children who are not attending on the day or during the week of the event, or who simply can’t say more than a few words at drop off or pick up due to COVID restrictions, to still say thank you in a personal way.

You can watch a very short video explaining how effective Tribute videos are here and a short  sample Tribute video (highlights reel) here.

How to get started making a Tribute video for Early Childhood Educators’ Day
Simply visit the Early Childhood Educators’ Day Tribute webpage here and follow the prompts to get started.

It only takes 60-seconds to start and you can create your Tribute video on any device!

All you have to do is send the one electronic link to the group of people you would like to participate in the video (via your regular communications channels with your families), and then Tribute does all the work!

Your friends and families can then film a short video in their own words on their smartphone and upload it to the Tribute webpage you sent them.

Tribute will then put all of the various “thank you” or “cheerio” videos together and add an introduction plus a musical soundtrack.

It’s also a free service for all early learning services as an Early Childhood Educators’ Day gift from the team at Tribute! We’re very grateful for their generosity and we hope you take advantage of their free offer.

PLEASE NOTE: Please be sure to use the code “ECEDay2021” upon checkout to make sure you receive the free service.

As part of this year’s celebrations for Early Childhood Educators’ Day, we would like to create a special video featuring the voices of the most important people of all – the educators!

This video will provide an opportunity for Australia to hear directly from some of our early childhood educators and gain insights into the amazing work they do, what makes their day special and why they have chosen to work in the early learning sector.

This special video will be aired during the week of Early Childhood Educators’ Day.

To help us create this video, we’re asking early learning service providers to encourage their team of staff to film one or more short videos of themselves talking to the camera about their role.

In particular, we would invite early childhood educators to give some thought  to the following questions when talking to the camera:

  • What made you decide to become an early childhood educator?
  • What inspires you the MOST about being an early childhood educator?
  • What is your favourite part of the day?
  • What do you like the MOST about working in a team?
  • Which parts of educating and caring for the children do you MOST enjoy?
  • Finally, how does Early Childhood Educators’ Day make you feel?

We’re giving away some fun prizes to some of the educators featured in the video, including 5 x personalised aprons from Cargo Crew & 2 x $100 Bunnings gift vouchers. We’ll announce these via a Latest News article on this website during the week of Early Childhood Educators’ Day.

We thank you in advance for your support & your words of insight!

With Early Childhood Educators’ Day not far away, we’re in the process of creating our “Australia says thank you!” community video, which will be aired during the week of this national community event.

To help us create this video, we invite you as the service provider, as well as your families, to film a short video with a few short, kind words to our early childhood educators.

In particular, we would like you to include the simple words “thank you!”, which we will use to create a mosaic of people to be heard in unison at the end of the video.

You can see last year’s “Australia says thank you!” video here.

You can all upload your short videos here –

We thank you in advance for your support!

Please note the deadline for uploading your videos is Sunday 22 August 2021.

We’d like to share a few words from our Principal Sponsor domainname.edu.au, to explain what they’re all about and how they can assist your early learning service(s).

Did you know that the domain name of your early learning service contributes to your brand?

edu.au is the only domain space exclusively for the Australian education sector, and offers a number of unique benefits and features.

From preschools to universities, students to suppliers, peak bodies to online search engines, the edu.au domain is universally recognised. It provides education and training entities like yours with a trusted brand on which to build and establish your online presence.

Being able to instantly convey the nature of your organisation and assert your credibility provides a value add and marketing aid that no other domain extension can offer.

What you get:

    • Trust and marketability: an edu.au domain instantly conveys the nature of your organisation and where your services operate through state- and territory-specific extensions.
    • Greater access: verify or fast-track your eligibility for education initiatives and discounts through the use of an edu.au domain.
    • Dedicated support: our customer support team is available to assist you at every stage, from the application process, to linking your domain to new or existing third-party services, renewals and beyond.
    • Peace of mind: provided by Education Services Australia — a not-for-profit company established by Australian, State and Territory government education ministers — our service is based in Australia and meets data security best practices.

Further details on the eligibility criteria and the types of names you can apply for are available via our self-assessment guide.

If you have any queries regarding edu.au domain names, eligibility criteria or policies, please visit our website, or contact the edu.au Domain Registrar via email at registrar@esa.edu.au or on 1300 885 092.

With Early Childhood Educators’ Day not far away, we’re in the process of creating our “How are you going to say thank you?” community video, which will help to generate awareness in the lead up to this national community event.

To help us create this video, we invite you as the service provider, as well as your families, to film a short video with a quick description of how you’re going to say thank you to your early childhood educators. Your message can inspire others in the lead up to the day.

We will try to include as much of this footage as we can in the final video, which we aim to air in late July/early August.

You can see last year’s “How are you going to say thank you?” video here.

You and your families can read and use the sample script here.
